Target late payments were a burden to our client Ann when she first came to us for credit repair. Target was reporting three, thirty-day late payments on our client Ann’s personal credit file. Ann felt that these were inaccurate so she hired us to challenge them for her. We initially disputed these late payments with the credit bureaus (Experian, TransUnion and Equifax) but were unsuccessful in having the erroneously reporting history removed.
Here is a snapshot of how the Target previously reported her history.
After not getting anywhere via the dispute audits sent to the three credit reporting agencies, we sent verification requests via certified mail directly to Target’s headquarters at PO Box 673, Minneapolis, MN 55440 on October 4, 2013.
On November 12, 2013, they mailed Ann the following response stating that they have since removed the erroneous late payments from her files. Here is a redacted copy of their response to her. The Target late payments have since been removed from her credit history!
If you have accounts reporting erroneous late payments and could benefit from a deletion letter similar to this one, I encourage you to contact us to discuss what we may be able to do for you as well.
